All Assassins Creed fans:

If you have not noticed jet. Ubisoft revelled cover for just announced AC3 which comes out in October 30th. From the cover, we can see that it will be placed in America at time of American Revolution which took place in 1775 to 1781. IGN.com suspects that it will happened between 1777 to 1778. There are several clues that suggest that. Like flag in the back and uniforms of the solders.

I must say, I am very excited for this new chapter of AC. I just love the way this new character looks. There are some strong Native American signs. However, I don’t know how will the gameplay be satisfying. In previous ACs we had lots of building to climb, high towers and so on.  But at this point in the history American colonies were not so populated. There were some cities, however none of them were anything like Venice, Rome or Constantinople.  But we’ll see. I thrust Ubisoft not to disappoint us.

Today there were also some screen shoots leaked. They do reveal quite some more stuff, but this are still just some speculations. It seems that we will be able to climb threes and hunt. So for that surrounding areas will get stronger position.
But most importantly, we know now that our targets are British soldiers and influencing figures. And our friend will be George Washington.
Also on Monday,5th of March they shall revel trailer with much more clues.

The Hunger Games Invitation with correct weaponry

To contact us Click HERE

Well, I'm a little red in the face. While I was furiously preparing the details for my daughter's Hunger Games Birthday Party this weekend, my husband kindly pointed out that I'd placed the feathers on my arrows incorrectly. They go with the pointed side down, of course...for better aerodynamics! Well, I'm a lover not a fighter so how's a girl like me to know such important details regarding weaponry? Of course this is why I'm married to a man who has a extensive knowledge of this and many other war minutiae. Nature works itself out just right, doesn't it?

Alas, I have corrected my Hunger Games invitation and updated it on Pingg.com where you can purchase an evite or a paper invite for your Hunger Games Celebrations!

I'll be also adding the party decorations I've created on Tuesday! I have to say that I'm surprised how much I love this color combination of black and white with the neon accents...

Mag Rouge--Wedding imagery to make you cry

To contact us Click HERE

Not because it's sad! Of course I mean cry with the amazing beauty of it. You might think it's weird, but since you are reading this and either like wedding styling as much as I do, or you just know me and know that I have some weird design quirks I'm not afraid to share, you might understand why I cry when I look at this magazine. This is the second issue of MagRouge, a glorious compilation of nature themed weddings created by Kate from my favorite wedding blog Magnolia Rouge.

It's so amazingly and heart achingly beautiful! The weddings are not only touching, personal, creatively designed and expertly photographed. They are in a magazine layout that is equally as beautiful as the features within. Seriously, I've looked through this one magazine about 10 times so far, and could look again and see more that inspires me. And while some people wish they could have dinner with Ghandi because he is their hero, I wish I could just be a little fly on the wall at one of these weddings. Just to be in the presence of such beauty would be a thrill. I love this stuff so much. Now I do think I'm sounding weird. Oh well.

Take a look at these shots and just try not to spend your next 5 lunches glued to your computer screen, looking at the rest of the magazine here!

Surtex is a convention in New York city for surface and licensing designers. My rep group A Fresh Bunch will be showing our wares and I'm thrilled to have been chosen as a senior designer in the booth. I have joyfully spent every waking moment creating and refining patterns and designs that I hope will appeal to companies needing fresh new art for their products.

I realized that I feel most at home creating patterns like this. I'm eager to refine my technical skills, though. I've already learned so many new things on my design software that my brain feels like it's increased it's neuron connections by about a million. It felt a lot like parts of my brain were being ripped open like velcro--not exactly painful but a little uncomfortable. But as I say, this old girl can still learn some new tricks! I just hope I didn't push out some important information in order to gain the new knowledge...I'd hate to leave my children at soccer because that pick up time was replaced by a design in Illustrator.

This is my promotional piece showing off one of my favorite new designs called "La Bella Vida". I was inspired by everything I love about colorful Mexican embroidery and quilting. I think it would make great tween bedding for Pottery Barn, don't you? (yes Pottery Barn, I'm talking to you!).

You won't trip down the aisle with this cute idea!

My wedding was a LONG time ago, but I still remember the panic about tripping down the aisle. We were married in a field at our farm and the aisle runner was nothing more than a white, free floating strip of nylon placed on fluffy, uneven field grass. I had to encourage my bridesmaids to goose-step like the Russian army so as to not pitch themselves into the seated guests.

Since out door weddings haven't ever lost their charm, I thought this was an adorable idea to decorate the "aisle" without that tripping stress that you didn't know you had to worry about until I just freaked you out with it (thank me later). Two paper hearts are taped to a stick (like a wooden skewer) and pushed into the ground. Super easy and do-able long before the wedding. This idea was featured on one of my favorite wedding blogs 100 Layer Cake. Of course the cuteness for this wedding doesn't stop there. I love their dessert table full of all different cakes because it reminds me of a State Fair Baking contest, you know? And that colorful backdrop is so attractive! You'll probably want to see more so check out the entire wedding here.

Set up for a Hunger Games Birthday Party

As most Hunger Games fans know, the premiere of the movie is this Friday. We at the Madison family household are beyond excited. My daughter introduced me to the books over a year ago and since I've read them, she's convinced my husband, my mother, her cousin and her reading teacher to read them too. Great books, but the book club discussion is not a part of this blog post.

It's about my daughter's birthday party. Her birthday is on the 26th of March and since the premiere of the movie fell so close, we decided to have a Hunger Games birthday theme. I designed the invitation a few months ago, using some modern looking arrows and a mix of old and modern fonts (I think of Hunger Games as being a bit steam punk-ish). The colors were black and white with pops of neon color. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it but I really, really did!
Cupcake toppers as arrows

The Tesserae Game jar

Some of the neon colored drinks with custom.

Food tags

So food is not in place in these photos, of course, but you can get the gist of the event from our set-up. The party fun will be making hair accessories with feathers and painting nails neon. We will play a game of Tesserae Trivia too. Every girl gets her name in the jar 3 times, and adds her name every time she answers a Hunger Games trivia question correctly. At the end of the night, we'll draw a name from the jar and the winner gets a prize (not a death match). Then they will make movie snacks to take to the theater after dinner and have a sleep over when the movie is over.

The invitation is as an evite and printable invitation at Pingg and the party printables are available at my etsy store.

Mad props to Jen Clawson from Two Chicks Who Cater for letting me use and eat her yummy coconut cupcakes!

I don't know who is looking forward to it more, me or my daughter!

Are you celebrating the Hunger Games?

When I go on vacation, I'm always on the look-out for cool art and stationery stores. I found both this past week while visiting my friend. Take a look at what I bought and imagine what I might use with all of these delightful supplies. Neon pink masking tape, cool pink ink pen, a bone folder that I've needed for a while now, a white chalk ink pen (looks so much better than dusty chalk), neon pink spray paint (holla!) and some gold vinyl letters. I have a few party styling ideas in store for all these little items...

I also couldn't resist the gold edged cards and decorative matches. I'm ALWAYS saying to myself, "Now this would be the perfect time to whip out a cute decorative box with matches in it."

Inspiration for a Family Reunion Picnic

To contact us Click HERE
Our family motto is "It's Better Together" if you hadn't guessed!

Once I got over being 13-17 years old, I really learned to love and appreciate my family. We run the gamut from staunch republicans to wild free-thinking liberals and love to get together and celebrate our crazy selves. This year my cousins in Wales invited us to their Family Picnic in the UK on July 8th. While we still cannot afford to fly 5 people across the ocean yet I thought we should celebrate along with them, even if it's across the pond!
Fabric for napkins that inspired the invitation & party style

Ideally the picnic was going to be at a park but since the temperatures seem to be stuck at 100+ degrees, it's going to be at my sister's house. She had a hankering to sew some cloth napkins out of this colorfully striped fabric, which I love! Once that was established, I created an invitation and we were set to start the styling. I'll give all the rest of the details once we get through the picnic.

This week a lot has happened, but in this post I will talk about something that is going through my mind for few days now.

So everything started when our lecturer sent us link to this video on top. This is video of Sir Ken Robinson talking about the education system. But education system is not what is on my mind, although this topic is interesting to me. The unsettling thought these days is creativity and talent that everybody have, we just have to find it.
This first video that I watched, made me curious and I went searching for more stuff from Sir Robinson. And my search ended on web site of TED (here you can findvideos of talks and presentations of different but great ideas). Sir Robinson talked for it twice now and always stressed the importance and range of human creativity and the talent that we have. He described that we can find our talent with passion and determination. When passion is forged together with the talent, only then creativity is at full range.

But all this talk about passion and talent broth me to the point of thinking what is my passion, what is the thing that I’m naturally drawn to, that I just love to do.  And I’m stuck. I have been going through my life not knowing what I want. Always tried to find the thing that I enjoy and love to do, but have always ended doing something, especially education, as a competition. Because that is haw the society works these days. You are nothing if you are not at the top, but the scary thing is that I’m afraid that I have lost myself on this path.
So what is the right way to continue? I don't know. And as Sir Robinson said, we should not be afraid of being wrong, or not knowing. So, I'm not afraid, I'll just try to find myself again.

See you around :)

We, exchange students, have begun our study here at TAMK on 22th August with orientation week. On the way there, I was thinking, where I have to go, and how will I find the classroom, since I have never been in the Kuntokatu campus. But, much to my surplice, there were international tutor with our name tags and folders with all the info we need, then they send us to the classroom, where was coffee and sandwiches.  After that, I was not worried anymore and there was no reason for that. We got lot of information in the folders and from international coordinators. But just to be sure that we know everything, there were guys from student union TAMKO, banks, free time activities, health care and more. We could ask all that was on our mind. Orientation contained also tour through the main campus and the city of Tampere.
All this showed me that this exchange well be the best thing in my life.

Probably the best part of it all is the international group of people that surround me every day. From all the corners of the world. Everybody is so different, and that is the beauty of it. Meeting new people, new cultures new habits and most importantly exploring FINLAND.  From little islands as Viikinsaari is, to lakes, sauna and finish language.

See you around :)

In last two months I had chance to go explore a bit around Finland and abroad. So I have been in Stockholm and Oslo.
Trip to Stockholm was great. It was organized by Club international TAMK. First we went to Helsinki, where we had some time (not a lot) to go around, before our ship set sails for Stockholm. I went a bit around. To some Orthodox church nearby and to the market located in the harbor.  It was interesting to see some small glimpse of what Helsinki have to offer. I am planning to go for at least few days in second semester of my study. The architecture and people there are so nice. Just perfect for photos.
Next was boat trip to Stockholm. It was my first time on boat these big, and on boat trip so long. We needed the whole night to get there. Actually more than the night. :P And because we had to do something in that time, there was party. As there always is on the boat. But the party was not the most interesting part of the trip for me. There were a lot of different people also on the boat, and it’s interesting what kind of people you can meet on these kind of trips. I’m telling you this because we meet a guy there, who was going home to Sweden. He seemed very normal. But the way of his thinking and looking at the world was the most interesting. He was talking a lot about aura and inner energies that we have. How we connect with each other. It was interesting because I’m skeptic about everything that I can’t touch or feel. And he was talking about something that is so abstract and unprovable. So I listened and analyze (I do that all the time and sometimes it’s kind of annoying). And at the end he did something to my left hand. Some of you may know that I don’t have left pinky. So he was holding his hand close to my left pinky. We were quiet and holding our hands that way for some time. Then the weirdest thing happened. I felt like I have the pinky. I don’t know if that is just because I wished to have it, nor if there is really something about energies. But I must say it was interesting, and it made me think. I know that I always try to explain stuff that can’t be directly proven, but I wonder what is around us and what do we not know jet. However, that was not the only part of the trip that was interesting. On the boat they had few bars and disco. And in one of the bars, they had live music. There was one girl from Sweden, her name was Alexandra and she was playing on the guitar and singing well know songs. Quite few of us stopped there and listen and sing with her.  It was just so nice, to listen to her. Combination of guitar and her voice was amazing. We were there till the end and we did not  want her to stop. It was great to have chance to meet her, but that again it’s sad, that she has to be performing on boat trips instead of filling great halls. Because she is amazing. There is just something about her that I like very much.   So that’s how we got to Stockholm. It was quite amazing :D I really like it. So yea, than we were in Stockholm. We had really little time to see all we wanted. But I made a plan. Took with me some books from library and a map. First we went around the old city center. Buildings there are awesome. I just love the old architecture. All the detail, and special pieces that buildings have. Royal palace was a bit disappointment. After that we went to Vasa ship museum. We got lucky and got bus ride for free :D Vasa ship museum is my favorite museum that I have ever been. I love history, and historical stuff.  So this was just as a desert for me. PERFECT! For all of you who don’t know what Vasa museum is GOOGLE IT :P  Just kidding. In this museum is the Vasa ship from 17th century.  Long story short; Vasa war ship was made in time of Swedish king Gustavus. Ship sailed on 10 August 1628 and sunk after sailing around 2km. Ship was then in the see, for quite some time and there was many that tried to get it out. But they did not succeed until 1959. Now the ship was mostly reconstructed and is in the Vasa museum. If you ever end up in Stockholm, this is a must see place. After this we had to rush back to the docs, which were far. But we did get there on time, unlike some other people and were left behind. Way back from Stockholm was not half as interested as way there. They replaced Alexandra with some crappy guy on piano. But the party in disco was a bit more alive. However, ship was much more unsteady so it was very strange to walk or sleep or anything else on the ship.
This trip was a lot of fun :D
See you around!

Trip to Oslo!
All you need for a nice trip :)
Well this was a nice trip between 7th and 9thof October. We actually organized this by our self. OK, I was not that helpful in the organization, because I was added to the trip later. But you get the point. So we began on the morning of 7th. First there were few bus trips, so that we finally arrive to the Tampere airport. We all know what the procedure on airport is. No funny story here. :P Only funny thing is to see how very small this airport is.  But still busy. OK, there was also this girl, who questioned me about leaving Finland, and some other stuff. And after that Luka had to say that I was interrogated because of suspicion of being a terrorist :P So yea, we flew to Norway, Rigge airport, which is like 45min drive out of Oslo. However, this airport is very new and well organized. I was impressed. Also busses to Oslo were already waiting outside. SO, I can say that getting from Tampere to Oslo was really easy. So there we were on Oslo bus stop. Confused by the time change, and now idea where we have to go. No no, other knew where to go and what to do, it was just me :P I don’t know what happened to me, usually I’m very organized and always know what to do, but that trip I was trying to enjoy. Not be the one to lead and not to stress about everything. And luckily for Susi, I did that. Susanna is also one of the Erasmus students here. And she is so nice. Always smiling and taking care of others. She is like a mother to us. (well she is a bit older, so it suits her :P) Well, back to the trip. Yea, Susi made this great plan what to see in Oslo and where to sleep, eat… First thing we did was walk through the city center. Around University and Royal palace. Also some eating was in there. And I must say, I really like center of Oslo. There is so many different buildings and parks, there are a lot of fountains. Really nice city. The nicest part of the city is definitely new apartment buildings in the bay. Everything looks so perfect. It makes you wish to live there. But when you think what could be the price of these apartments, you better not know. Because everything is sooooooooo expensive in Oslo. Everything, from food to drinks…However, there is a lot to see. On the second day of the trip, some of our group went to one big ski jump a bit out of Oslo. They say the view from there is amazing. The rest of us went walking around the city. And we ended up in this big park with around 200 sculptures, made all by the same guy. I must say this is the best park ever. All the sculptures are figures in different poses. AMAZING :DThen me and Beatrix(another Erasmus) went to Viking ship museum. We had to walk there, because we did not want to pay for the bus. And it was a really nice walk. We went though some woods, nice paths and nice colors on trees. Also we passed Nordica museum (amazing building).  And then Viking ship museum. I mean, you know now already that I like history and ships. And again, this was a desert for me. I could be in there and analyze for few hours. Just seeing that three ships was mind blowing. All the detail and pieces with the ships. AWESOME! Must see if you are in Oslo. Well this day was not over, not at all. Because we did not have place at hostel and we had bus to the airport like at 4 in the morning. So we had to stay up all night. Some went to some bar, some to McDonalc. I went to Oslo opera house to take pictures. As you can see opera house is amazing building. A lot of glass and white stone. So during the night it is well lighted, so is great for photography. Even thou I was very cold, I enjoyed some alone time.
So yea, that was all about the trip. I must say it was nice. Very expensive, but nice :D
Enjoy :)

Well, officially it's the 1st July, 2012 here in Australia, and we've now gotten word of our first Nerf N-Strike Elite sighting in stores States side from Bazookafied over at Tactical Tag. Just like with the Vortex series last year, Nerf seem to have done it again and brought out the Elite guns some 2 months before the official release date- here apparently at a Toys R Us in the state of Georgia, along with a "buy one get 1 50 percent off" deal.
I'm guessing there are some pretty happy Southerners who can't believe their luck round about now:)

Pictorial: a tribute to battery powered N-Strike

Since the Vulcan EBF 25, the battery powered motorised blaster has become an increasingly popular kit in the Nerf stable. While I personally can find them leaving me a lil unfulfilled (I kinda like the manually priming- it's a tad more satisfying when you shoot it) they are definitely some of the best looking blasters around.
Anyway it'd been a while since I've done some Photoshopping-on-the-fly and given I had such great material to work with from shoots with our house model Stef and my good mate and trainer Ras, I thought I'd do a tribute to the motorised blaster, UT style:D Posted the on Facebook but was asked to post them here too. Enjoy:)

Listed on the UK Toys R Us website is the lesser known Elite version of the N-Strike Barricade. As mentioned before, it's called the "Stockade"- (perhaps because it comes with a.. stock?) and is listed for the rather exi price of 24.99 UK pounds, though I'd be guessing it'd be cheaper in the US.
Wondering if there are any changes to the internals or if it's just the elite darts that give it its performance increases?

Cheers Kevin for the heads up:)
