Rumours: More on the Elite Alpha Trooper..

Ok, so something brought to our attention by one of our readers 'Iamiamomo' has me thinking twice about my previous post. Firstly, zooming in to the name plaque of the blaster shows not 'CS-18' but "CS-12"..
Secondly, scrolling down the Baidu post allegedly shows some internals of this "pre-production" Alpha Trooper. I'm not into opening blasters myself, but apparently, it's actually NOT the same as what the traditional Alpha Trooper CS-18 has. Here's an internals pic of the AT from SGNerf:
The back blaster is a Raider- disegard that:P

All Assassins Creed fans:

If you have not noticed jet. Ubisoft revelled cover for just announced AC3 which comes out in October 30th. From the cover, we can see that it will be placed in America at time of American Revolution which took place in 1775 to 1781. IGN.com suspects that it will happened between 1777 to 1778. There are several clues that suggest that. Like flag in the back and uniforms of the solders.

I must say, I am very excited for this new chapter of AC. I just love the way this new character looks. There are some strong Native American signs. However, I don’t know how will the gameplay be satisfying. In previous ACs we had lots of building to climb, high towers and so on.  But at this point in the history American colonies were not so populated. There were some cities, however none of them were anything like Venice, Rome or Constantinople.  But we’ll see. I thrust Ubisoft not to disappoint us.

Today there were also some screen shoots leaked. They do reveal quite some more stuff, but this are still just some speculations. It seems that we will be able to climb threes and hunt. So for that surrounding areas will get stronger position.
But most importantly, we know now that our targets are British soldiers and influencing figures. And our friend will be George Washington.
Also on Monday,5th of March they shall revel trailer with much more clues.

I've decided to do something kinda... crazy.  Locally, I am known for planning Laser Tag events.  It's what I've been doing for 7 years with turnout between 25-35 attendees per game at nearly every event.  So I decided to take that networking that I've built up and blend it with my other hobby of Nerf in an attempt to reach more folks for my first planned outdoor game.  In the past, I have exclusively done Nerf games indoors and planned my big laser tag games outdoors (with a few indoor matches for campus and church groups).  While I was at it, I thought I'd take advantage of ANOTHER great networking tool... this blog!

While I don't expect much, I figured I'd open up the invitation to anyone reading this who can manage to get to the game.  The details can all be found on Facebook.  I have no idea what kind of turnout to expect from the short-notice nature of this plan... but I figure we don't get too many days in December with a projected high temperature of 64.

So I'm organizing a Nerf game using the Internet by utilizing the Community of friends and people that have been playing Laser Tag with me for 7 years and inviting the rest of the World Wide Web on my blog.  Will this game be considered an "NIC" game?  Probably not, as there's a shortage of pipe-dream blasters, Stefans, and masked YouTube stars.  Suits me just fine!

Well... while there weren't nearly as many entries... the few that I DID get had some awesome photos!  Before I announce the winner, I just thought I'd share some of my favorite photos that I got to look at.  I'm a bit of a photography junkie myself, as well as a "Plan-a-saurus Rex", so it made me REALLY happy to see all these great events and their photos!  Thanks for submitting them, guys!

By the way, if you haven't noticed it, I'm a Subaru guy... so I'm going to give "Honorable Mention" to these guys thanks to the Subaru sweatshirt in the lower left corner of this photo!

That being said... I had to give it to SpookyLucas with his HvZ SFSU game photo.  While there wasn't one clear photo with EVERYONE involved, after sorting through all the photos of the game, it was clear that this event had the most folks involved.  But really, ALL of these are awesome since it's getting together with folks to play... TOGETHER!  Modding is fun, new blasters are cool, but it's the PEOPLE and the GAME that make it worth it.  At least for me, that is!

Here's how this works.  SpookyLucas (if you're reading this), post a comment with your contact info.  I won't publish the comment, but instead use it to mail you your prize!  It's as simple as that!

I suppose it's time for the next giveaway, huh?  Well check the updated Contest Page to see what's up for grabs and what the stakes are this time!

Don't ya just hate it when you've got tunnel vision and someone manages to sneak right up on ya in the middle of a game?  The only thing that could make it worse is if there's someone behind you with a video camera who saw it all happen, and that's just what Kronos did!  Congrats to him in winning the N-Strike Elite Stryfe!  Sorry for being a few days late.  I'm up to my ears in editing/reviewing stuff for Xplorer right now.
Anywho, the next contest is now LIVE on the "Monthly Contest" page, so give that a read.  Good luck everyone, and congrats again to Kronos!

Rumours: Stampede 50 round drum?? AGAIN?

To contact us Click HERE

If you've been following us since the early days of UT, you'll remember the original talk regarding the release of the Nerf N-Strike "Stampede ECS-50"- some people even had original Stampedes with the "ECS-50" name plate on the side, though the '50' never actually made any sense. It started to of course, with some strange box art that emerged (as seen above) and we wrote about it way back in December, 2010. To date, it's one of the only rumours we've covered that never came to fruition, even despite it popping up again in March 2011 and even January 2012. Many sources (even official ones!) revealed it was just an idea that wasn't meant to be...
So why mention it again you ask? Well! What seems to be circulating like wildfire (though I attribute it to our pals at the Canberra and Southern NSW Dart Tag crew's Facebook page) is the patent doco regarding what looks like a Stampede with.. yup you guessed it, a FIFTY ROUND DRUM. Some pretty detailed pics of it, in a patent that was filed back in 2010, but seems to have only recently been approved...

More pics after the jump, or check out the actual patent doco here.

Thank you, Everyone!

I wanted to take a minute as we close out 2012 to reflect and thank all of you for your comments, input, support, and ideas that have made this blog so fun to run!  We started things off with ToyFair 2012 and all the goodies that came along with it.  The unveiling of N-Strike Elite, the Lazer Tag Augmented Reality system, and the Pyragon news that was first revealed RIGHT HERE on Tactical Tag!  I really feel like that post propelled this blog forward both statistically and on the Nerf blogging stage.  In March, I started working with Nerf Mods & Reviews and made some great friends along the way.  That spring I was blessed with the Combo Mount #4 from CTDYNE for my LTX and started planning our biggest season of Laser Tag yet for the MLTA.  Soon after, the LTAR was released over the summer and I got a few early to review and share with the world!  During the summer months, I built the LTX EF5 and helped others with projects at Mod Nights.  August saw the highly anticipated release of N-Strike Elite that continues to gain attention from all kinds of Nerf fans.  We had lots of great games, both Nerf and Laser Tag held over the summer and fall that I covered here to show you what it's like on my side of the blaster.  Another Halloween was spent making my costume: Captain America's "Avengers" costume, which was fun to make and play a few games of Laser Tag in!  With the winter, we got more new N-Strike Elite blasters and I've finished out the year strong with a gift from Xplorer!  To top it all off, Tactical Tag has recorded it's highest monthly pageviews record: 41,913 for December!!

Thank you to EVERYONE for making 2012 so much fun for this blog.  I keep posting because of the great support I get from YOU, and for that I am very grateful.  Thanks for the great memories in 2012!  Have a safe and fun New Year, everyone!
